Loving Family + Home = Something Every Child Should Have In Ethiopia, Make Your Mark (MYM) is addressing a serious social ill: children at the ages of 10-15 years old are trying to survive day in and day out on the streets. These precious children search for food, shelter, protection, hope and most importantly LOVE. They huff glue to stay warm and stave off hunger. They risk being physically and sexually abused by strangers. MYM believes these children are future world changers. That’s why we go out into the streets to meet them right where they are and build relationship. Once invited to the MYM day center, they begin the rehabilitation process of changing their life. Over the past four years MYM has reintegrated many children. We’ve found local families for some and for those who can’t return home, we open “family environment” homes. This year we are going to need to open a third “family environment” home for street children to provide a six-month rehab program. This is not a group home, this is a house rented in the community, which will have four boys, two moms, sofa, dinner table, TV, and schooling. In its simplest form, it’s a home--what we believe every child should have.

 The cost for this home is $40,000 and we want you to be a part of providing a safe, loving place for these beautiful children.
